Riding on the back of Pegasus is a fantasy that sparks my creative imagination. This is the third painting I have done from this perspective. Since a child I have had a passion for the thrill of running on horseback. I have had many dreams of flying on the backs of horses.

This painting is part of my personal collection and thus it includes Irises, both on the mat, and carved into the left side of the frame.

Also the scene happens to be set on a beach of Flores Island in the wilderness of Canada off the west coast of Vancouver Island, where my husband and I camped while on a self-support sea kayaking adventure by ourselves. It was memorable.

The 28.50 inch x 39 inch painting is done in soft pastels on paper and mat, with my carved and painted frame. Included are two photos showing the carved details on the frame. – G.P.L.
